Heanor Town 2-4 Long Eaton Utd

Not been to the Town Ground for a while - there have been a few improvements made to the stadium, needed to ensure Heanor's continued presence in the NCELP.  New seats behind the top goal and in the stand that runs down the side of the pitch - and a new turnstile "shed" has been constructed.

United's first goal on 22 came after a Heanor corner was cleared - the ball finding DANIEL GORDON who raced in from the left before firing across keeper Oliver Pannell and into the back of the net.

10 minutes later a raid down the right wing, a superb ball across the goal, a simple tap in for MATT SAVAGE doubled the travellers advantage.

KYLE BRYANT pulled one back for the Lions on 35, winning a race with his marker to the ball before hammering  a tremendous drive past Scott Miles in the the United goal. H-T 1-2

LYNTON FRANCIS glanced home a header from a free-kick on 67 to restore Long Eaton's two goal lead, but with 7 minutes left on the clock, Heanor were once again back in the game thanks to NEIL GRAYSON nudging the ball home after a rare old scramble in front of the United goal.

Long Eaton lost keeper Miles after he was injured in a 50/50 challenge with Grayson - then Heanor lost their keeper as well, Pannell dismissed by excellent Referee Lisa Rashid after bringing down an attacker in the box.  Skipper MICHAEL ARMSTRONG stepped up to blast home the spot kick in the 5th minute of added time. F-T 2-4
